Ayanne Fernandes is originally from Cape Verde, and grew up in Boston. She participated in a Quest service trip in 2016 to New Orleans where she recalls enjoying helping people in need in the Ninth Ward. She thinks fondly on the friendliness of the people in New Orleans, and says that the service trip changed the way she sees things and made her more appreciative. By being a board member, Ayanne hopes to continue serving her community and give other students the same opportunity to travel and serve which she considers an important experience for young people.
Ayanne is a senior at Dearborn Stem Academy. She is most excited about her last year in high school and the opportunity to go on another Quest service trip! She currently works at BPE teacher academy assisting with office responsibilities. She hopes to study either engineering or business when she graduates next year.
